Time in the crypto-verse seems to travel faster than a speeding bullet. It is hard to believe that the Tron (TRX) project is just one year old. Justin Sun reminded us of this fact in a tweet only yesterday, July 30th, when the team was launching the Tron Virtual Machine along with a secret project. Also in the tweet, was him announcing that it was his birthday. The full tweet can be found below:

A Brief History of the Tron Project
Although the Tron Project was launched on the 30th of July last year, the actual Tron ICO did not start up until August 31st, 2017. The public sale went on till the 2nd of September, 2017. The total amount raised during that time period was $70 Million. The total tokens that were minted were 100 Billion. What many forget is that the initial token price was $0.0019 and you could participate using Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
Return on Investment (ROI) so Far
Anyone who participated in the initial ICO paid $0.0019 for each TRX. Looking at the value of TRX right now, it stands at $0.034. Therefore, doing the math, the Return on investment is 1,689% in a period of only 12 months.
Notable progress to date
The value of TRX skyrocketed back in January 5th and was valued at $0.25. During this time period, TRX was ranked 6th according to coinmarketcap.com. Justin Sun has promised the Tron Community that this feat will be achieved once again as the project continues to develop. He made this statement back in May when he said:

We have actually achieved top 6 briefly on January 5, 2018 during TRON’s astounding sprint out the gate. In 2018, we will reclaim and secure this title, which will mark TRON’s global status as a mainstream public blockchain and lay a solid foundation for competition with Ethereum.
The dream for a top 6 finish by the end of 2018 are very achieveable given that the launches of the Testnet and Mainnet went along without any glitches. The Tron mainnet has been running flawlessly since the 25th of June when the Genesis block was launched during the Tron Independence day.
Other notable developments include the BitTorrent acquisition with plans to integrate its over 100 Million users to the Tron Ecosystem. The Tron foundation also released the Tron Virtual Machine on the 30th of July on the same day as the project’s 1 year anniversary and Justin’s birthday.
